Adam Richman shows off dramatic weight loss as Man vs Food star makes Soccer Aid debut

The professional eating machine has lost an incredible FIVE STONE and looked in fit shape for the charity football match

It's hard to watch your figure when your full time job is to scoff down enormous portions of calorie drenched - yet incredibly delicious - foods.
So spare a thought for Adam Richman who piled on the pounds while filming cult TV show Man vs Food.
In an average episode, the eating machine polishes off ridiculous challenges which almost always involve eating portions big enough to feed an entire rugby team.
Now the 40-year-old has shed a staggering 30kg in a big to be healthy and end the ridicule from his friends.
Showing off his new slimline physique, the avid Tottenham Hotspur fan was all viewers could talk about during charity football game Soccer Aid.
The match saw celebrities and former legends of the game come together for a match at Old Trafford to raise funds for Unicef.
After losing almost five stone - which is the same weight as a sack of potatoes, two boxes of floor tiles or a domestic goat - he deserves a bit of attention for his hard work.

Fern Britton

When Fern Britton, 55, Tweeted a sweaty post-workout photo she was accused of looking gaunt. The presenter slimmed down dramatically after she had a gastric band fitted in 2006. But she didn't actually admit to it for three years.  Fern was the rapidly shrinking face of Ryvita at the time, but she says: "I hadn’t lied. No one ever asked me how I’d lost weight. It’s something I did for myself. My cholesterol was high. My knee joints were starting to hurt. I wasn’t able to run."

Boy George

Boy George revealed one of the most drastic weight losses in celeb history in early 2013. The 51-year-old has revealed that the secret to his success is healthy eating and sticking to the Freer Nutrition plan devised by Amelia Freer.He Tweeted details of his new eating plan around the time: "Portion control. 5 hour gaps between meals. No coffee or tea, except at meals. Water & fizzy water between meals!"

Kelly Osbourne openly battled weight for years. Now 69lbs (almost five stone) in 2009, and kept it off by training for Dancing With The Stars."I always cheat," she admits. "If I'm craving pizza, I'll have it for breakfast, salad for lunch, and oatmeal for dinner." She credits her vegan chef boyfriend Matt Mosshart for helping her eat more healthily.

Back in 2009, there was a lot more Ricky Gervais to love. "I reached 14 stone. Things were getting out of control," he said. The comedian shifted 22lb in just one year after one last 'sausage-binge' at Christmas. "I now spend 55 minutes now a day exercising. I'd never had a problem with weight. I was thin until I was about 29. Then I hit 30 and there was a decade of eating and drinking."

Claire Richards

During her time in Steps Claire Richards was a tiny size 8. After two children, she hit a size 18 weighing in at 15 stone before declaring that she'd lose the weight  - but she would do it safely and in her own time.

Dawn French

The writer and comedian would often make fun of her size, but in 2011 Dawn French revealed her dramatic weight loss. "I still refuse to dislike my old body," she said after shedding seven and a half stone."When you’re over 50 you have to pay attention to your health," she said. "I’ve never disliked myself."

Natalie Cassidy

She'll always be Sonia Jackson to us. Natalie Cassidy's weight got down to just over 7st in 2008, but she admitted afterwards that she was starving herself and was unhealthy. “I really wasn’t well. I was bordering on having an eating disorder," she said. "There were nights I would go out for dinner and then I’d go home and take laxatives because I didn’t want the food inside me.”Natalie had her daughter Eliza in October 2010 and then set about getting rid of her “mummy tummy” the healthy way.

Thankfully though, at the beginning of 2008, I made a commitment to my health and I have stuck to it. Nearly four years later and I am in the best shape of my life! I’ve lost more than 70 pounds and I’ve done it the old-fashioned way, slow and steady, by eating healthily and exercise."
