WONDERFULLY TALENTED AUSSIE ACTRESS LIB CAMPBELL

We could certainly take our time and carefully craft this piece to bring more attention to that wonderfully talented Australian actress and all around performer Lib Campbell – but in reality, she simply doesn’t need it. When you type her name into Google you don’t’ see a photograph of someone with a dour expression and numbers under her chin, you’ll see an amazingly glowing face that radiates intelligence, humor and tons of personality. You will also see more coverage of her than you were expecting of the young woman who nabbed the starring role in the traveling Peppa Pig’s Big Splash.

Peppa Pig is the extremely popular animated show for kids on Nickelodeon that has been a mainstay of that network and a lifesaver for parents who have 2 to 5 year old children at home. The traveling show is touring through the U.S. and it is selling out wherever it plants its feet for the day. When Lib auditioned for the show there were only 2,000 other people auditioning for the six available parts and two of the roles were juggling roles. Since she hadn’t really seen the show before the audition she wasn’t quite sure what she was getting into when she walked into that room with the producers. Luckily, she just let her instincts and natural talents along with the years of training under her belt lead the way.

Peppa Pig and her family and friends are the stars of the show and Lib and the other actors maneuver the large puppets around the stage while giving voice to them. Voice in the context of Peppa Pig, of course, isn’t just talking. It’s singing original songs and remaining in character for two thirty-minute acts with a short break in between. Who said acting was easy? Lib understands that hard work and working together with the other actors and the whole behind the scenes crew is necessary to pull the show together, and she also realizes that touring in a special company like this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Peppa Pig’s Big Splash has already toured very successfully in the UK and Australia and their United States tour has all the markings of blockbuster. The show is fast moving and highly entertaining and Lib Campbell gives a terrific performance. She is Peppa Pig and I mean that in the most positive way. Lib, the professionally trained actress has managed to actually become the four-year old pre-school character of Peppa and we love everything she does.
