Taylor Swift is many things. A marvellous singer. An enthusiastic dancer. A - we imagine - great baker of cookies. But one thing Taylor Swift is not is naturally graceful. We learn this regularly, when we see her dancing at the Oscars or being ~such a klutz~.
Yes,
she is tall and elegant, like a gazelle. Yes, she leaves the gym in
heels that make our feeble knees quiver in fear. But Taylor Swift is
sticking to this whole 'I'M SO UNCOORDINATED' thing, and so we have no
choice but to suspend our disbelief and commit. No, Taylor is not
naturally graceful. Yes, she is a clumsy, gangly goofball.
And that's exactly what Taylor wants to convey in this new ad for Apple Music, other than, you know, 'sign up for Apple Music'.
In the video, Taylor declares that she hates cardio. She then gets on to a treadmill. This is her first mistake.

Must Taylor suffer for getting into her jam? Must we all be punished for taking joy in music? In the world of treadmills, yes. Treadmills are evil. We're pretty sure that's the real message behind the advert, and, luckily, we totally got it. We will never trust a treadmill again, other than when we put Mini Rolls on it and wait at the edge with our mouth open. Because that is hilarious. What could possibly go wrong?
