Chance The Rapper Blesses EveryOne, Releases ‘Blessings’ From New Mixtape

Your prayers went up, and Chance The Rapper’s blessings came down — both in the form of his new song, “Blessings,” and, finally, a release date for his third mixtape: May 13.
“Blessings,” which debuted on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, channels some of the religious and spiritual themes that Chano has been exploring for some time now — an approach heightened across his latest pack of releases, from “Somewhere in Paradise” to “Angel” to “Ultralight Beam,” alongside Kanye West, Kirk Franklin, Kelly Price, and The-Dream.
Like Kanye did on “Beam” with Franklin, Chance brings a gospel singer — in this case, Byron Cage — for “Blessings.” It also features Jamila Woods, who’s gained recognition for her appearance on The Social Experiment’s “Sunday Candy” and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’s “White Privilege 2.”
