I’ll be the first to own up to just how amazing it feels to drink a cup of coffee in the morning. I'm basically addicted,
and you definitely don’t want to deal with me before I’ve my 16 ounces
of iced coffee with almond milk. However, I’ll also own up to the fact
that coffee isn’t exactly the best for you – it can cause that afternoon
crash (an excuse to drink more coffee!), and it’s easy to build a
tolerance to it. But what if there was a way to wake up that didn’t
involve a caffeine addiction? It turns out there is: dry brushing.
For
the uninitiated, dry brushing is a step to add to your morning skincare
routine that involves brushing your skin with a rough body brush before
hopping in the shower each morning. The technique is simple: starting
with your ankles and shins, brush your skin using long but light
strokes, moving upward until you reach your neck and shoulders. While at
first glance it sounds crazy (and also kind of painful), it’s actually insanely good for you (and feels amazing!)
