Emma
Maddock is a British actress that has had incredible international success in
the entertainment industry. She stars in the highly anticipated, critically
acclaimed; Lovers and Friends LA.
Emma reveals to us how she scored the role of Dani out of thousands of
applicants.
“My audition for ‘Lovers and Friends LA’ was one of
my first series regular auditions after graduating from the American Academy of
Dramatic Arts. After reading the character breakdown, I felt like it was
something I was perfect for. It’s a funny story actually because I had
initially applied for the role of Dani, but was asked to audition for a
different character because they had a different look in mind for my character.
When they actually saw how young I look in person, they asked me to audition
for Dani, and I guess I did something right because I was able to change their
mind about their preconceived idea of what Dani should look like! I also had to
play guitar, sing and rap in the audition. When they called and offered me the
leading role of Dani, I was so thrilled! I remember running around my apartment
and telling my roommates that I’d got the role!”
‘Lovers
and Friends LA’ is a spinoff of the original, award winning ‘Lovers and Friends
Show’ and follows a group of people from different backgrounds, each involved
in the LGBT community. The new series features a couple of original characters
who make the move to LA to pursue their careers. We asked her what we can
expect to see from her character as the series develops:
“Dani is a very complex person. She’s had a tough
life and that’s altered the way she treats people, making her very guarded. She
is used to fending for herself so it comes as a shock when other people actually
give her a chance. You can definitely expect to see Dani cause some trouble and
shake things up. We resume filming early next year and I can’t wait to delve
into my character.”
We
can’t wait to see more! Emma has been very busy this year and has taken huge
steps in her career, with star quality performances in the multi-award winning
‘Charade’, ‘The Vamps – I Found a Girl’ and ‘This One’s For You’ by David
Guetta and Zara Larsson. She also worked alongside James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s
Creek) in ‘Day in the Life of Diplo’.
In a very competitive industry, Emma continues to conquer.
Her most recent work includes the lead role of Landon in the highly anticipated
‘LA Web Series’. This follows the journey of two young women meeting for the
first time and explores the idea that strangers can make a great impact on our
lives, if we allow them to. The teaser was released earlier this month and it
gives us nothing but high hopes for the first season. It’s no wonder it already
has so many fans sitting on the edge of their seats, waiting for it’s release.
