THE STARS ARE ALIGNING FOR ACTRESS ROMANE PORTAIL

We saw a film clip the other day and the woman who was in it was incredible. She talked into the camera minute after minute after minute and we just wanted more. The performance was by the French actress Romane Portail and she went through so many emotions – convincingly – in such a short amount of time, that the scene was reminiscent of other great actresses such as Meryl Streep, Anne Parillaud (Nikita), Natalie Portman and Ingrid Bergman, to name just a few. Romane has something special that can’t really be learned: she is able to project real emotion in a split second.

When we see this kind of artistry we wonder just how she does it; that is, what technique she uses to not only get in touch with her feelings, but to be able to share them openly in front of all the strangers and people on the set or location where she is filming. We know that Romane was selected by the legendary acting teacher Jean Claude Cotillard to be accepted into the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Orleans, where she is from. Mr. Cotillard is the father of Academy Award winning actress Marion Cotillard. Romane also attended ENSATT (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre) and was chosen out of hundreds of other hopefuls and given a full scholarship. They saw something in this beautiful young woman also.

She has acted in TV, stage plays and movies and is currently occupied with performing in a web series called Urban Jungle. It’s a unique series, shown in ten-minute segments that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats. “Animals of the Earth – Attack the humans wherever and whenever you can,” should be one of the series’ loglines because that’s just about what happens and Romane’s character (she plays the lead) has to ding out what is causing all the furry, fuzzy, funny felines and other animals to tear humans apart on sight. Romane has been pretty busy since she graduated from acting school a few years ago. She’s worked hard and created new characters for all of us to thoroughly enjoy and emote with. She’s also established herself as an actress of high caliber who is a consummate professional and who can not only be persuasive in any part but also dominate the screen when she walks into a scene. Vive La France! Vive La Romane!
