Pia Toscano Mesmerizes the Audience with Her Very First Solo Concert at The Sorting Room In Beverly Hills
Pia Toscano returned to
familiar stomping grounds as she performed her very first solo concert at The
Sorting Room, The Wallis, Beverly Hills last Saturday night. Hypnotizing the
audience with her powerful vocals and enormous range, Pia shared a story
between each song including fond memories of one of her very first theatre productions
which also happened to be at The Sorting Room.
Backed by a fantastic
band of all live musicians, Pia looked and sounded incredible as she belted out
some of her original songs including ‘You’ll Be King’, ‘Belong’ and a medley of
songs from some of her favorite female vocalists who inspired her growing up. Some
of those songs included ‘What a Girl Wants’ by Christina Aguilera, ‘Run to You’
by Whitney Houston, ‘All By Myself’ by Celine Dion and ‘All I Want For
Christmas Is You’ by Mariah Carey. Pia also performed ‘Bang Bang’ from another
one of her favorite artists, Jessie J -who happened to attend the show, much to
Pia’s delight.
Other highlights from
the night included some Christmas songs where she was joined on stage by her
amazing backing vocalists Lukeed Gemon and Matt Bloyd who are outstanding
vocalists in their own right. ‘O Holy Night’ was clearly an audience favorite
-after all, who can resist such a spectacular Christmas song being sung by a world
class vocalist like Pia?
Overall, a fantastic, dynamic
show that captured the true talent and essence of Pia Toscano and her vulnerability
performing in front of such an intimate crowd, which she handled so naturally
with grace, ease and excellence!
