An exclusive Interview with S.P. Magna

We have been interviewing celebrities this Christmas season and S.P. Magna is not left out, S.P. Magna is a new independent recording artist (rap, hip-hop, R&B) in the process of making is first couple songs for public release. S.P. Magna is from a small town with no real hip-hop scene and have a strong attachment/association with the Latin phrase "Sic Parvis Magna"

Now tell us how you became an artist and what inspire you when singing.

Not to sound cliche, because a lot of people have/had it a lot worse than I, but I had a pretty miserable upbringing and struggled a lot. Music was always what got me through things. When I was seven I started writing to cope with things and honestly, I just want to give other people the same strength and hope that music has always given me. I don't care about money, I care about people.

Have you been featured with other artist and what was it like?

Actually, I am featuring on a song for a producer by the name of "Beathoven" which we are hoping to release in early 2018, and I couldn't be more excited.

Who do you see as a mentor in the music industry and tell us why?

Lin-Manuel Miranda is a close second, but I'd definitely have to say Logic has had the biggest impact on me as a person and as an artist, and I'd say it definitely shows in my music at times. A lot of his style is so similar to what I've always seen as my own, from flow to beat choice, and even his message as an artist.

We heard you are releasing your first singles, please tell us about it?

I'm currently working on a 6 track mix-tape, "Sic Parvis Magna"

I want this project to give listeners an introduction to who I am as an artist, but I also tackle a variety of styles and subjects across the various singles. So far, I have written about some darker topics like mental illness, drug usage, sexual assault, etc... but I also have content focused on love, inspiration, and of course some "feel good" type tunes. The first single is set to be released in early 2018.

Where do you see yourself two years from now and what should your fans expect from you?

Hosting Saturday Night Live, getting ready to start a national tour. My fans should expect nothing less than everything I have.
