Linda Grasso: Scripting Her Own Success

Filmmaker Linda Grasso has been featured on film, screen, stage and online platforms, performing diverse roles in front of and behind the camera.

The passion and creative genius behind films like ‘Wishful Thinking’, ‘My Two Lives’, ‘Stretching The Friendship’ were each written, produced and directed by Linda - she also stars in the leading roles in these films. Her latest project, the Australian short-comedy, ‘Jan Of All Trades’, was also written, directed and produced by Linda.

Linda’s credits include the films: ‘Trish’s Top Tips’, The Brothel, the television sitcom ‘Rock Chikz’ and the documentary TV series, ‘Behind Mansion Walls’ and ‘Deadly Women’.

Linda has been featured in many television commercials with award winning directors, including Colonial First State Superannuation, Purina Friskie Cat Food, Ingham Chicken, Vicks Vapor Drops, Yellow Tail Wines and Quaker Cereal Bars.

“It was fun being the poster girl for Quakers Cereal Bars - with the caption ‘Move over donut… there’s a new cookie in town.’”

The most successful production of Linda’s career to date, is the web series, ‘Starting From ... Now’.  With 100 million views, the series tells the story of a lesbian love triangle. Linda plays the role of Trish Faulkner, a divorcee who runs a graphic design business. The Sydney-based series aired from 2014-2016 and online views are still increasing.

While comedy is Linda’s true passion, she enjoys and excels in dramatic roles like her portrayal of the knife-wielding, murderous wife Susan Polk in the reenactment TV series, ‘Behind Mansion Walls’.

Linda discovered acting and performance at a young age. Her early inspirations were John Travolta in ‘Saturday Night Fever’, Paul Hogan, Magda Zsubanski, and the movies, ‘Muriel’s Wedding’ and ‘Strictly Ballroom’.

Empowered by powerful and successful industry women like Melissa McCarthy and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Linda strives to emulate the achievements of Reese Witherspoon and Margot Robbie.

In the spirit of Sylvester Stallone’s journey to bring ‘Rocky’ to the screen, Linda Grasso is determined to bring her dream project to Hollywood success.

“One of my biggest achievements is a screen play which I have written. The aim is to produce it and play the lead role. Basically, I am following the footsteps of the infamous Sylvester Stallone in ‘Rocky’ and I am working towards financing.’
