CHARLES ANCELLE WORKING BOTH SIDES OF THE CAMERA

Charles Ancelle is a French filmmaker and producer who first discovered his love of filmmaking as a child. His childhood was spent drawing, reading, and playing the piano - discovering the films of Stanley Kubrick introduced Charles the medium of filmmaking beyond entertainment. Above all, filmmaking and storytelling fills him with happiness. I don't think anything beats being as happy as the first day of filming any project, or when you finally screen it to the public. Those feelings make it all worth it.

Charles is a force in the industry in front of and behind the camera. In his first film, John Bondage, was honored at the the Cannes Short Film Corner, The HollyShorts Film Festival. At The Costa Rica International Film Festival and the International Film Festival of Cinematic Arts, Charles won an award for the performance of its lead actor.

The highlights of Charlescareer feature projects where he collaborates as a writer, director and producer. He vigorously oversees each project from conception to completion, working with production staff during production and supervising the marketing and distribution of the films. The critically received web series, Behind The Blinds AKA Filmmaking 101earned 200.000 views in the first month of its release on the ASCA YouTube Channel. Co-produced with producing partner, Anna Skrypka, Charles is preparing the eight episode season that is in production for its second season.

Recent projects, the film, ‘Sisters’, and the film, Sophie, feature Charles performing a trinity of roles as producer, writer and director. ’Sisters’ tells the story of a woman whose sister mysteriously vanished and returns, causing heartbreaking consequences. Sophieexamines the life of an android designed for commercial human companionship.

Charles’ credits include producing two music videos,Undercurrent, and ‘Higher”, for the artist, Alina Ly. Film credits feature the acclaimed films, ‘Waves’, ‘At Last’, and The Pinhole Effect’.

Charles Ancelles passion for filmmaking is the core of storytelling and creating work that matters. What I feel the most proud of is probably being able to continue to produce projects that I care about. I feel also very proud of having worked with incredible talents on both sides of the camera.
